Just for a moment Team Belfius entered the top 10 ranking of best Belgian teams after ("Average") Thomas Van Huffel gave us enough points to reach the mark of 1000 points.
Thomas' victory struck as lightning from clear sky (as we say in dutch), he explains: "I didn't expect to be able to compete anymore in the GC/YC after my off-day in the first stage, but my teammates and the staff kept believing in a good result. This podium place was the best thing i could've hoped for... What it feels like winning the YC jersey? I don't know how to describe it, it's my second time after Oryx but i can't get used to it. I also want to wish a good recovery to Raimundo (Frota - TD Rockets) and Jacob (Wieringh - Hommerts CT) after their unfortunate crashes... and also thank the team for the best support they could have given me!"
Manager Platedefend tells us how he's preparing for the Kangaroo Tour that's coming soon: "We have prepared Jean (Vleminx) for this tough assignment, he hasn't been able to obtain a result this far, but we are determined and believe that he can do it. We will compete for a top 9 in the GC and hopefully another jersey (YC) can be added to the team's palmares."
